Ramnicu Valcea
La commune de Ramnicu Valcea (« Ramnic »), capitale du département de Valcea, en Roumanie, se trouve à 176 kilomètres de Bucarest, la capitale du pays. Elle est située dans la zone vallonnée des Alpes de Transylvanie, à une altitude moyenne de 250 mètres, sur la rive droite de la rivière Olt, au point de confluence avec la rivière Olanesti. Elle comptait 98 776 habitants lors du recensement de 2011. Le 29 juillet 1848, la population de Ramnic, réunie sur le site de l’actuel parc Zavoi, a chanté pour la première fois la chanson « Roumain, réveille-toi ! ».
