The workshop "Happy Village" is focused on the role of decision makers and individuals in environmental protection, and it is also the last activity within the manifestation of the European Week of Local Democracy.
On behalf of the city leadership, the event was attended by Zorica Jovi?, Deputy Mayor and Danijela Milosavljevi?, City Hall.
The participants of the workshop received answers to the mapped problems and presented large environmental projects by the Deputy Mayor, who is also the representative of the Delegation of the Republic of Serbia in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, which coordinates this event.
Young people showed great interest in further work on the topic of ecology and environmental protection, which the local self-government will enable through inclusion in environmental sections, which will be organized with the Academy of Technical and Vocational Educational Studies - Vranje Department.
The city of Vranje will compete for the "Partner ENLD 2021" award this year as well. The award is given to local self-government units whose activities within the European Week have shown a special commitment to raising citizens' awareness on the topic of local democracy, and especially this year's topic: Environmental protection - local communities are taking measures.
