A Gift from Students to Nature at the "European Week of Local Democracy"

To gain the concept of the nature protection, we organize a whole week event. First of all, we teach primary school children to environment, recycling, climate changing and how to make compost and reuse our organic wastes. Within the scope of the week, Firuzbey Primary School students produced compost and planted school gardens in line with the "zero waste" goals, which are indispensable for a sustainable environment. At the end of the week, students plant new and young trees with the compost in their school’s garden. During this activity, the governor of Beykoz Ms. Esengül Korkmaz Çiçekli and Deputy Mayor Mr. Feruz Kutsal come to school, and plant these trees with the students.
