ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERS PROJECT

Beykoz Municipality has implemented the "Environmental Volunteers" Project in order to generalize "Zero Waste" practices, to increase awareness and participation in the society, and to enable young people to take a more active role in environmental projects. A protocol signed between Turkish-German, Beykoz and Istanbul Medipol Universities within the scope of the “Environmental Volunteers” Project, which also aims to develop cooperation with local governments and universities in Beykoz. In the first step of the project, volunteer teams set up among the students at universities. Then they got educated from the given by the environmental engineers of Beykoz Municipality on "Zero Waste" applications and other environmental projects carried out by the institution. After the trainings, the students started the field works in Beykoz. they gave information to the residents of the district about the project's contributions to the environment and the future.
