Catastrophes cannot be predicted because they do not occur in cycles. Nevertheless, the question is whether we are prepared in the event of an unforeseeable emergency. The Corona pandemic has shown that there is room for improvement in disaster management at all levels. Niall Ferguson takes a historical look at the various catastrophes in human history. We need to learn lessons from these historical examples so that future disasters do not lead us to ruin.
