Municipalité de Konak
Izmir est la troisième plus grande province de Turquie, avec une population de 4.367.251 habitants. Situé au centre géographique d'Izmir, Konak est également le centre économique, culturel et historique de la ville. Le district a une superficie de 24 kilomètres carrés. Selon les dernières données officielles, 351.572 personnes vivent dans les 112 quartiers de Konak. Cependant, en raison de son statut de centre de transport, d'affaires et de divertissement, on estime que Konak accueille 1,5 million de personnes chaque jour.
La municipalité de Konak a été créée en tant que "municipalité de district central" avec la "loi sur les municipalités métropolitaines" numéro 3030, publiée dans le Resmi Gazete (Gazette officielle) le 9 juillet 1984. Le nom de la municipalité centrale d'Izmir a été changé en "municipalité de Konak" le 4 juillet 1987. Le 22 juillet 1988, la municipalité de Konak acheva son organisation et devint opérationnelle. La municipalité de Konak est au service de ses citoyens avec ses 31 directions et plus de 2000 personnes travaillant dans divers domaines tels que les travaux publics, les femmes, les enfants, le sport et la culture. Actuellement, la municipalité de Konak compte 15 centres communautaires : 1 centre pour les personnes âgées, 10 centres sportifs et 4 centres culturels.
