Symposium of Resilient Cities

Step by Step on the Road to Resilient City Çi?li The Resilient Cities Symposium, in which the policies developed against the economic, ecological and social consequences of the risks posed by climate change and disasters for cities will be discussed on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 13.30, at Çi?li Municipality Assembly Hall with the theme of "Step by Step on the Road to a Resilient City Çi?li". After the opening speeches, "Designing Resilient Cities as Sustainable Cities and Communities Approach the 2030 Goal” entitled representation will be made by Dr. Ebru ALARSLAN. In the statement, urban resilience; disaster, climate change and other possible damages triggered by these risks will be handled within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Targets 11 and 13, and a framework will be drawn with the sub-titles Designing Resilient Cities and Recent Developments from Our Country and the World. At the first session of symposium that concentrating on the theories of the resillient city, independent researcher Dr. Mehmet PENBEC?O?LU will make presentation named as "How does the Çi?li Spatial Strategy Plan Predict the Future of Çi?li?". After this speeches, ?zmir Katip Çelebi University Forestry Faculty Forest Engineering Department Head Prof. Dr.Derya E?EN will make a speech about "Urban Forestry for Resilient Cities". At the second session of symposium that focusing on the resilient urban practices, “Smart City Practices for Resilient Cities” titled presentation will be made by Mustafa Kemal ÖZEL from Forte-R&D, “Mitigation-Adaptation Strategies in Cities Resistant to Climate Change” titled presentation will be made by Assoc.Dr. Nurdan ERDO?AN, Betül ÇAVDAR and Hande GÜNEL, "Nature Based Solutions for Sustainable Urban Planning" titled presentation will be made by dr. P?nar PAMUKÇU ALBERS from Kent-LAB.
