In conflict with the EU: About the rule of law in Poland and Hungary

With their EU accession in 2004 Hungary and Poland have agreed to the European value system and treaties. However, in both countries the ruling governments are violating the principles of the rule of law, e.g. by reconstructing their judicial system. The Europe expert Michael Roth, member of the German Bundestag (SPD) and Minister of State for Europe in the Foreign Office, is taking a look at the current situation and shows options how this fundamental conflict could be solved. This event is a cooperation between the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Vhs Chemnitz.
