From June to September the Program "Voluntários Jovem Cascais" (Young Cascais Volunteers) takes place in Cascais. These are practical, occasional and short-term activities, varying according to the specificity of the particular project/event.
Some of the objectives: promote among young people principles of Active Citizenship; provide participants with opportunities to develop skills on a personal, social and professional level and foster youth community spirit through involvement in community service projects and events.
Maré Viva Program is aimed at young people (from 12 to 30 years old) to contribute to the general well-being and safety of users of the county's beaches, promoting a better use of that space and preventing risk situations; sensitize users, as well as participants, to issues related to environmental improvement and disclose to the users, useful information regarding Tourism, Environment, Public Health and others of municipal scope.
Special Projects available in Summer 2021: “Cascais Accessible - Beach for All”; “Avencas Protected Maritime Area” and “Make Change Your Beach”.
