100 pedunculate oak trees donated by the Society for the Protection and Study of Birds of Serbia have been planted on the banks of the Nišava River on the outskirts of the city. The area chosen for planting new trees is a habitat for rare birds. The aim of the action is to send a message that without active work on preserving trees and forests there is no work on preserving the habitats of endangered species and mitigating the negative effects of climate change, as well as the message of the importance of planting indigenous species adapted to climate and soil, which will best preserve existing biodiversity without disturbing the natural balance.
