Award for the sixth consecutive time to Muratpa?a

In Antalya, Muratpa?a Municipality received the "Best Environmental Education Activities in Blue Flag" award for the 6th time in a row. Mayor Ümit Uysal said, “We are extremely happy that the steps we have taken to protect the environment during the pandemic process, where we have changed our lifestyle and priorities, are worthy of an award. We receive this award on behalf of our neighbors who are highly sensitive about the protection of our natural values. Muratpa?a Municipality received the 'Best Environmental Education Activities' award for the 6th time in a row, given by the Environmental Education Foundation of Turkey (TÜRÇEV) as a result of the evaluation of environmental education and information activities held every year within the scope of the Blue Flag program. The evaluation was made by the jury consisting of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ankara University Educational Sciences Department, Gazi University Education Faculty, Selçuk University Tourism Faculty and Nature Conservation Center. Pointing out that the municipal beaches, located at the point where the natural wonders of Antalya meet the sea, were entitled to receive the Blue Flag this year, Mayor Uysal said that the beaches started to serve with the gradual normalization. Uysal stated that the cliff beaches will be open between 07.00 and 20.00 in the morning, while the beaches will be closed on Sundays when the curfew is applied. Muratpa?a Municipality carried out seabed cleaning and inventory work, zero waste training on beaches, cliffs cleaning with various non-governmental organizations and sports clubs in 2020, which passed with restrictions and bans, conducted workshops within the scope of the Blue Flag program.
