Muratpa?a Municipality harvested the sesame seeds it planted in an area of approximately 5 decares in Güzeloba Mahallesi. While the freshly harvested sesame seeds were left to dry in cumules, Mayor Ümit Uysal said, “We will continue to produce”.
Agricultural production works in Muratpa?a, the center of city life in Antalya, started in April last year with the initiatives of Mayor Ümit Uysal. In the studies that started to draw attention to the food shortage caused by the Covid-19 epidemic and to emphasize the importance of continuity in agricultural production, corn was planted first.
Muratpa?a Municipality harvested 12,700 kilograms of corn last year. The harvest was turned into corn flour and shared with the residents of the district. After corn, wheat farming started on 45 decares in Yamansaz region. Muratpa?a Municipality produced approximately 20 tons of product. Wheat was also delivered to the residents of the district as bulgur in kilogram packages. However, ginger production, which has become increasingly popular in recent years, has also begun. In the greenhouses of the municipality in the Ermenek District, the trial production yielded results in an area of 500 meters.
