«Green Participation in Action»

The public organization «PLATO» in collaboration with Lviv City Council implemented the project «Green Participation in Action». During the project implementation, was developed a brochure of green and blue infrastructure solutions for the Lviv City Territorial Community – «Catalog of Green Solutions». In the brochure, was presented nature-oriented ideas that can be implemented through the tools of Public Participation, in particular the Lviv Participatory Budgeting. The brochures contain as many as 25 nature-oritented solution including images and descriptions of 16 implemented facilities in Lviv: a house for insects, the welfare of lakes, bird feeders in city parks, trees, rain gardens, hedges, eco-parks, composters, public garden in the park «Zalizna Woda», permeable surfaces in the parks of Lviv, weeds in the park. 5 experts were involved in the development of the catalog. The project created 4 educational caption videos and recorded 5 video interviews for distribution in the media. The public organization «PLATO» distributed the brochure «Catalog of Green Solutions» during the festival «Harvest of Impressions» in the park «Zalizna Woda». We also handed it over to institutions and organizations of the Lviv City Council and to children's and adult’s libraries in Lviv and the region. Additionally, the executive director of the public organization «PLATO» - Mykola Ryabyka presented the «Catalog of Green Solutions» at a hardware meeting of the Lviv mayor with the heads of executive bodies of the city council. As a result, the mayor ordered the establishment of a working group to develop environmental ideas to be implemented next year in Lviv, and also supported the idea of creating co-financing programs for residents of such green projects. The first meeting of this working group took place on 15 November, during which the general vector and format of further cooperation were discussed.
